"Magic lies in challenging what seems impossible"
- Carol Moseley Braun
Aurelia Shanga is a New Jersey raised actress currently based in the New Jersey and NYC area.
Beginning her career at Sussex County Community College, Aurelia developed a love for theater and the stage, and threw herself into a new world with no prior experience except an admiration for the craft. After earning her Associates degree in Theater Arts, she attended Centenary University where she earned a BA in Theater Arts with a concentration in Performance Studies. There, she elevated her baseline abilities into more specific skillsets, learning the art of Stanislavski, Linklater, Shakespeare, and Meisner through immersive training.
She performed in many main-stage, small stage, and student productions throughout her university career. She also made her professional debut for Centenary Stage Company, where she continued to perform in multiple equity shows as both leads and supporting characters.
“Acting is understanding the concept of the individual and the society we inhabit. When you’ve had to conform your whole life and be someone else, the skill of acting has always been there. The missing piece is just yourself. Your individuality. Know yourself and the answer is clear.” -Aurelia
